Hope

Oh, little Belle.  First of all, she has shown us that even in the most dire circumstances, hope is a good thing and wonderful things can and do happen for those who never lose that hope.  And it is all connected to that warrior spirit.  She taught me that no matter how bad things are for you, it can always get better and joy can return to you.  She taught me, through Irene’s words, that keeping that spirit is important because we are going to need it even after the good times return.  The loss of her sight was just another mountain that her hope and warrior spirit helped her to overcome.  She is an example of a small life courageously well lived.
