We will never stop loving you

My dearest Little Belle,

you have taught us so much. You overcame a cruel puppy mill with dignity and class. You overcame and conquered every  hurdle life threw you. And then what could have been the final indignity: loosing the sight in both eyes. But did this  stop our warrior girl?  No it did not.   You kept on going. Your final lesson to us was this: it was never about your eyes. It was about ours and how on own prejudices prevented us from really seeing and understanding. We finally got to see the world and each other through ‘your eyes’ and they showed us our own hypocrisy.   That is why we have a Little Belle’ hole in our hearts. We don’t want to see the old way anymore. And this is the lasting legacy we can give our Little Belle.   We will never stop loving you , your mom Irene or each other
